Gift of Land to Skegness

The Primitive Methodist Chapel on Roman Bank, Skegness, was erected in 1884, at a cost of about £250, the site being given by Mr CharlesHoughton.

This chapel was the one built before and opposite the present-day church on Roman Bank.
It appears that there maybe a discrepancy with the year and cost of building, according to this extract from a local newspaper:

On October 16th, 1881, the first Skegness Primitive Methodist Chapel was built on the Roman Bank (almost opposite the present Church) at a cost of £327. For eighteen years this was the home of our people. Those who were privileged to worship there still declare it to have been "the prettiest Chapel for miles around."
