When I was at Alford today, I noticed a little coin & medals shop opposite the church. In the window were some £1 and 10s notes, so I went in and bought one of each!
It was a real little Aladdin's Cave - lots of old thrupenny bits, sixpences, old pennies, farthings...
I told the guy that my granddad had lots of old Victorian pennies which I used to play with when I was little. So the guy very kindly threw one into the bargain lol! Very nice man!
